My Mother Turned 46 Today
Last night, in an attempt to tire myself (so that I wouldn't need a vodka nightcap or sleep aid... sadly, I still struggled to sleep yet again), I made the birthday card. It's a design I found on Pinterest, and my mother loved it. I may make some to sell on Etsy, or most likely just for mailing to friends.
I baked some red velvet cuppycakes with buttercream frosting for her birthday "cake" and there were white chocolate chips inside them. Delicious, even if the chips all sank to the bottom.
We got our hair cut this morning after doing a few small things at our church. She got all her hair trimmed, but I just needed some emergency fringe-trimming from my fiasco two weeks ago (thankfully my fringe looks considerably nicer now).
In the afternoon we raked leaves.
For a gift, I got my mother a "Don't blame me, I voted for Romney" t-shirt and she LOVED it. Holy crap, I don't know if I've ever seen her this surprised and happy for a gift. Good thing I got it, then! She's wearing it tomorrow when she goes grocery shopping. Neither my father nor sister got her anything, not even a card.

Your mom is 46? That just makes me feel old.
I once saw a bumper sticker that said "Don't blame me, I voted for the other crook". Your mom's shirt reminded me of that.
I saw that card design on someone ones blogger. It is soooo cute!!! Love it! It may be too complicated for me to try.
